Prawn malaikari

a light yet mouth watering prawn dish

this is a good dish to be had with plain rice

Ingredients non vegetarian 4 servings


    • 750g Prawns (or lobsters ) washed and de-veined
    • 2 onions (paste)
    • 1.5 tbsp ginger (paste)
    • 4-5 garlic cloves (paste)
    • 1.5 tsp tomato puree
    • 1 cup Coconut milk
    • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
    • 1 tsp haldi
    • salt, sugar - to taste
    • 1 tbsp ghee
    • white oil - for cooking

    Directions

    1. Marinate the prawns with haldi and little bit salt for 1/2 hr. then lightly fry them in oil and keep aside.
    2. in the remaining oil, add all the pastes one by one and fry till oil leaves the pan.
    3. then add coconut milk and bring to a boil.
    4. now add the prawns and salt and sugar to taste. boil till the gravy thickens.
    5. add ghee and garam masala powder and remove from fire.
    6. pour it into a bowl and keep it covered till it is served, so as to retain the aroma.

    Wow.. I tried this dish today and it turned out awesome.. Easy to make and more importantly you have not used a lot of oil which is definitely a plus for me.. Apart from the health aspect of the dish.. I have never made a more tastier prawn dish till now.. Thanks a lot, from all of us who can't cook as well ;-)
