Soak 1 cup rice & grind to smooth paste by adding 2-2 1/2cup water & cook in kadai with oil & add salt.2.soak 1 cup rice for 15 min,drain & dry for some time & grind when its wet to get rice flour.Sieve to get fine powder.25% extra flour u will get

Ingredients vegetarian 1 servings


    • 1 cup Rice flour
    • 1-1 1/4 water
    • 1/2 tsp Mustard
    • 1/2 tsp Urad dal
    • 2 greenchilli finely chopped
    • 2 tbsp grated coconut
    • 5-6 curry leaves,chopped
    • 1/2 tsp Hing
    • 2 tsp Coconut Oil
    • Salt,to taste
    • 1/2 tsp coconut oil or gingely for palm

    Directions

    1. Heat oil in a kadai.Add mustard,after it crackles,add urad dal,green chilli,hing.Saute till golden colour. 
    2. Add water,salt & curry leaves.When it boils,add rice flour and stir well continuously to avoid any lumps.
    3. If the water is not enough,please sprinkle some water in it.
    4. Keep on medium flame.Batter will become like a dough and doesn't stick to the kadai.
    5. switch off the gas.
    6. Add grated coconut.Allow the dough to cool for sometime.
    7. Apply oil in ur palm.Make small marble sized balls & keep it in the oil smeared flat plat
    8. Take a kadai with 2 cups water and keep a ring stand & above that keep the plate.
    9. Steam for 15 min till glassy.
    10. Switch off the gas.Yummy mani kozhakattai is ready.

    Note:If its old rice:11/2 water is needed.If new rice: 1-1 1/4 is enough
