Sai Bhaji

i ve kept khatta and dil leaves near by the bhaji.some add jeera powder and dhania powder.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    • 2 bunch siliq(palak)
    • 1/2 bunch dill leaves(sowa)
    • 1/2 bunch Khatta leaves(type of sorrel looks like methi leaves)
    • 1/2 cup chana dal
    • 1/2 tsp haldi
    • 1/2 tsp red chilli(kashmiri)
    • 1/2 tsp hing
    • 2 onions,chopped
    • 6 garlic pods
    • 1/2 tsp jeera
    • 1 inch ginger chopped
    • 3 green chilli,chopped
    • 2 tsp oil
    • 1/2  cup water


    1. Soak Chana dal for an hour.
    2. Wash and drain & chop palak,khatta and sowa.Only the leaves of sowa used not the stem portion.
    3. Heat oil in a cooker,Add jeera,ginger,hing,green chilli,red chilli and garlic.Saute for a minute and add onion till brownish.
    4. Add haldi,chopped leaves and mix well.Then add chana dal,salt & add water.close the lid and pressure cook 2 whistle.
    5. Whisk for a minute well.Sai Bhaji is ready.Serve hot.

    Note:can season garlic pods to brownish  and red chilli powder in little oil and top it on the bhaji.
