this is just the way my mom made it and it's so easy to serve with sesame oil or ghee...my kids love to eat it anytime with their idli/dosas.easy replacement of chutneys..........
Ingredients
vegetarian 1 servings
2 cups channa dal
1 cup urud dal
10-12 hole red chilles
2 tsps jeera
2 pinches of hing
salt t taste
Directions
Dry roast both the dals separately till you get the aroma.
remove from fire when it turns golden brown.
roast the jeera.
and then whole red chillies till it turns slightly darker in colour and not getting black.
combine all together and grind to slighly coarse powder.
