A simple variation of Pepper Chicken Fry is given here-which I tried with my Mother-In-Law for guests this weekend and very much appreciated by all.Try this mouthwatering chicken fry-for a change .


  • 1/2 kg Boneless Chicken pieces
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp pepper powder-freshly ground
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp jeera powder
  • 1/4 tsp fennel seeds powder
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon stick powder
  • 2 tsp curd
  • few curry leaves
  • few coriander leaves
  • 2 tsp refined oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt-to taste
  • 250ml water


  1. Clean the chicken pieces(atleast 6 times) and add pepper powder, turmeric powder, chilli powder,ginger-garlic paste,jeera powder,fennel seeds powder,cinnamon stick powder, curd, curry leaves, coriander leaves and salt. Mix this well and marinate the chicken pieces for 30 mins.
  2. Heat oil in a pressure pan,add the marinated chicken pieces along with the marinade and saute for 3-4 mins.
  3. Add 250 ml water and pressure cook upto 4 whistles.Leave it for 10 mins and wait for the pressure to be released.
  4. Open the lid and turn on the flame .Saute for 2-3 mins or till this fry runs dry.Serve this Pepper Chicken Fry hot with rice or indian breads etc,.
  5. Note:If u want this as Pepper Chicken Masala, just add 2 cloves , 2 cardamoms-crushed,1/2 cup onion paste and 1/2 cup tomato paste in step2 and saute this for 4 mins at-least and then add the marinated chicken pieces.In Step3 add 400ml water and then pressure cook up to 4 whistles and serve this hot with indian breads, rice, idli, dosa etc.
