Rumali roti

very smooth & tasty

Ingredients vegetarian 6 servings

    • 500g wheat flour
    • 150g maida flour
    • 1/2 banana
    • 1 cup milk
    • Salt to taste
    • 1/2 egg
    • 2 tbsp ghee or butter
    • 1/2 tsp baking powder


    1. Mix wheat flour, maida flour, baking powder, salt and sieve them together.
    2. Add egg, milk, banana to the flour and knead to smooth dough using water. Cover with a thin cloth and keep aside for 30 minutes.
    3. Make small balls from the dough, and roll like chapathis.
    4. Fry on flat pan until golden brown on both sides with ghee and roll a paper napkin to each chapathi.
    5. Serve hot.

      Preparation time: 45 minutes



    Excellent. Tastes good. Mital: Recipe is very clear. Milk,egg,banana is added to dough as ingredient to add taste and texture to Roti. That is why it is called as Rumali roti. Then keep adding water little at a time to make a good dough. You can not add milk alone to make dough. Try it, it is worth the effort.

    dear mital milk is use of smoothness not make a dough


    Aren't we suppose to use milk to prepare the dough?? In your ingredient list there is 1 cup milk and in method you are are saying that make the dough using water. Please clarify.
