Healthy Uttapam

Very nutritious n yummy...

Easy to prepare n good to taste supplimented with loads of nutritional value..

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings


    • 1 cup each of moong dal & tuvar dal, soaked individually for 4-5 hours.
    • 1 medium sized onion, diced, 1 medium sized capsicum- diced, 4-5 tsp of shredded cabbage, 4-5 tsp of shredded carrots.
    • 2 -3 tsp (ginger+garlic+green chilly) paste. If u like it spicy you can add more of it...
    • Salt to taste
    • Oil.

    Directions

    1. Grind together both the Moong dal & tuvar dal.Add required quantity of water so that the consistency of batter is spreadable(similar to dosa batter) 
    2. In it add the carrots, onion, capsicum, cabbage & salt & mix well.
    3. Add ginger-garlic-green chilly paste & mix well.
    4. Heat Non-stick pan & Sread oil on it.
    5. Pour the batter in the centre of the pan & spread it evenly with a spoon.
    6. Apply oil from the sides of the spread batter for crispiness.
    7. Cover & cook for 2-5 min on both the sides.
    8. Serve with Grren chutney or Tomato sauce...

    add a dash of hing, 1/4 tsp jeera seeds and some haldi to the batter for added taste.

    to make it crispier, spread some oil on hot tawa n then remove this oil, spread the uttapam as thin as possible, cover n cook, then apply oil from sides n then cook from both sides.

    indeed it tasty and healthy but its very soft its breaks easily while turning it on other side on tawa. how to make it crispier
