Dal and Spinach curry..

Moong dal with spinach

Great combination....for spinach lovers.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 4 cups of spinach (chopped finely).
    • 3/4 cup moong dal(without skin).You can soak for few hours and wash to remove skin.
    • Salt.
    • 2 tsps garlic chilli paste.
    • 3 tsps turmeric powder.
    • 2 onions sliced.
    • 1 tsp green chilly paste.
    • 2 tbsps cooking oil.
    • 1 large tomato peeled and cut into small pieces.
    • 3 tsps garam masala powder.

     

    Directions

    1. Wash moong dal .add 2 cups of water.;ittle salt .1 tsp turmeric powder.boil it until soft.Keep aside.
    2. Take a vessel .heat it .add onions ,braise till golden brown..add tomatoes ,turmeric,garlic paste and green chilly paste.braise on low heat for 5 mins.
    3. Wash spinach and add to it.add salt.mix it .cover and cook till spinach cooked .
    4. Add boiled dal. mix it and let it cook for 5 mins on low heat, so that it blends with spinach.
    5. Add 1 cup of water.garam masala powder,and lemon (optional).
    6. Cook for 2 mins or till dal slightly thick.
    7. Serve with rice or parathas.

    This is one of the simplest and fastest recipie for dal... same same but differnt at the end !! very good. thank you so much.
