Palak dal

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings


    • 3 bowls of palak (finely chopped)
    • 2 bowls of moong dal (boiled)
    • 2 tomatoes (grated)
    • 2 onions (finely chopped)
    • 2 green chillies (cut in longitude)
    • 1 tea spoon chilly powder
    • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
    • 2 tsp coriander powder
    • 2 tsp jeera powder
    • 2 tsp garam masala
    • 3 tbsp oil
    • 2 pieces of cardamon
    • 4 whole black pepper
    • 2 pieces cloves
    • 2 elaichi, crushed
    • salt to taste

    Directions

    1. Boil palak and moong dal separately.
    2. in a pan, heat oil, cardamon, elichi, whole black pepper, cloves. add onions and green chillies and cook till light brown.
    3. Add tomatoes, chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder, corriander powder, jeera powder and garam masala. let it cook for few seconds till the oil starts to separate.
    4. Now add boiled palak and moong dal, add 2 cups of water. cook till water starts to boil.
    5. Serve hot with rice and paratha
