Mangalorean crab Curry

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    • 1 Kg crab
    • 2 cups of grated coconut
    • 8 Red Chillies
    • Tamrind (Half lemon size)
    • 1½ tbsp Oil
    • 1 Medium onion (finley chopped)
    • ¼ tsp Turmeric powder
    • Salt


    1. Grind grated coconut, tamarind and red chilly in smooth paste
    2. Boil crab with sufficient water (do not add too much water) with tumeric powder
    3. When crab is half done add the ground masala
    4. When masala starts boiling - take vessel of the stove
    5. Heat oil and fry onions ltill they change their colour to dark (do not burn) and pour on the masala
