Vermicelli-Dates Milk Desert

Desert made with vermicelli,dates and milk

Thiss milk dersert is rich in taste.U can do this flavoured desert using coconut milk too.

Ingredients vegetarian 6 servings

    • 1 cup vermicelli - crushed
    • 1 litre milk
    • 250 ml water
    • 1 1/4 cup sugar
    • 1/4 cup khoya
    • 3 green cardamoms-crushed
    • 2 tbsp ghee
    • 1/2 cup ground (peeled almonds,20 pistachios and 10 dates) together
    • 1 tsp kewra essence
    • saffron - a pinch
    • 10 dates-deseeded and chopped fine
    • 1 tbsp chopped dried fruits
    • chopped pistachios and cashewnuts-for garnishing


    1.Heat ghee in a pan , add vermicelli and saute for 2 mins till golden brown.
    2.Add milk,water,saffron,sugar,khoya,ground almond-dates paste,chopped pistachios,cardamoms and dates.Mix well.
    3.Cook for 15 mins and add kewra essence.
    4.Cook 3-5 mins more on low flame or till the milk attains a thick consistency.
    5.Decorate with chopped dried fruits,chopped cashewnuts and chopped pistachios.
    6.Serve this vermicelli-Dates milk desert warm or chilled.
